BGKT holds an open meeting on the 3rd Sunday of the month (except December), from 2.00 – 4.30pm. All welcome. Free.
2020 Meeting Dates: Jan. 19, Feb. 16, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, Aug. 16, Sep. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 15, December no meeting.

Open meetings are led by lay teachers authorized to teach by the Theravada Buddhist Sangha [Community of Theravada Buddhist Monks]. Open meetings include The Four Foundations of Mindfulness taught by The Buddha; Tranquillity and Insight Meditation; Walking Meditation. Talks on Buddhism.
Subject to COVID-19 restrictions for Community Centres BGKT holds an open meeting on the 3rd Sunday of the month (except December) from 2.00-4.30 at Castle Street Community Centre, Castle Street, Kendal, LA9 7AD. Detached Room – entrance on the side of the building behind bicycle rack near wall. Free – donations welcome.
Open meetings are also held at Castle Street Centre Kendal for maximum of 6 people under COVID-19 regulations for community centres. If you wish to attend please book a place via the contact page on this BGKT website and wait for confirmation of your place. Do not attend if you or anyone in your household has COVID-19 symptoms or is in quarantine. You must wear a face mask and use the provided hand sanitizer. The windows will be open so please wear warm clothes and if you wish bring a blanket or throw to use when meditating. Please bring a bag to store your possessions in. The kitchen is closed so please bring a bottle of water if you require one. All attendees if they can and if their phone will allow them to, need to download the NHS Covid-19 App before they attend the Castle Street Centre. On arrival at the Centre they must check in through the app by taking a picture of the QR Code. If they cannot do this, they can leave contact details for track and trace.
