                       HOMAGES

Homage to the Blessed One, the Exalted One, the Fully Enlightened Buddha (x 3)

HOMAGE TO THE BUDDHA

Thus, indeed is the Blessed One: Exalted – Omniscient – Perfect in knowledge and conduct – Fully accomplished – Knower of worlds – Incomparable guide for the training of persons – Teacher of gods and persons – Enlightened and Blessed.

HOMAGE TO THE TEACHINGS

Well expounded is the Doctrine by the Blessed One – visible here and now – without delay, immediate – inviting investigation – leading onwards [to Nibbāna] – to be comprehended by the wise, each for oneself.

HOMAGE TO THE SANGHA

Of good conduct are the disciples of the Blessed One; of upright conduct …; of wise conduct …; of gentle conduct … The disciples of the Blessed One – namely, these Four Pairs of Persons, the Eight Kinds of Individuals – are worthy of gifts, worthy of reverential salutation, are an incomparable field of merit to the world.

OFFERING OF LIGHT, WATER, FOOD / MEDICINAL DRINKS

With camphor lights brightly shining, abolishing gloom, I adore the Enlightened One, the Light of three worlds, who dispels the darkness [of ignorance].

O Lord! The Blessed One, may this water be kindly accepted by you, out of great compassion for us.
